Count Day Reminders

The following message was emailed to teachers on Feb. 3rd from Sherri:

Spring Count Day is right around the corner, next week, February 9th, 2022.

Please follow the same procedure that you followed in the fall, using Ps for all students who are Present for the week of February 7th - February 11th.

If a student is present, mark them with a P each class for the 5 days.

If a student is absent, use the A.

Tardy codes can be used for all days EXCEPT count day, February 9th, where only Present or Absent should be marked.

As a refresher, if you want to mark an entire class with a P and then go back and change only those who are absent, use this method:
Select the multi day view, select the code in the drop down and double click on the letter of the day of the week, the entire column should fill for you.

Please check out this month's edition of the SJPS Guidance blog linked here. There is fabulous content linked, including 10 Ways To Boost Your Mood and Chase Away The Winter Blues.

Food for Thought

The brief article linked below was recently shared by ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development). I felt it aligned well to our beliefs & current practice. It led me to reflect on changes I made in my thinking throughout my 19 year career. I look forward to hearing your thoughts as well. Enjoy!

Valentines

We have learned a lot about the virus and how

it is spread (and not spread) over the past 18 months, therefore, store purchased valentines are completely fine. this year. It is good practice though to continue to allow only store made goods and/or individually wrapped treats (not homemade). Let us know if you have any questions, we're happy to help.

You are - and we will keep reminding you of that! Tell your Swim Buddy today!
