Due to the office by May 27th:

  • Update your F &P folder data with current level information. Sort folders in alphabetical order by receiving teacher. Fifth grade teachers please alphabetize folders and turn in to the office once updated with current data.
  • Double check to be sure you have all report card envelopes with current address labels - if not, let Sara know this week.
  • Complete device, sleeve, and charger check-in.
  • Sort student sleeves by receiving teacher. Please add a post-it with student name if ID card is missing. Fifth grade teachers turn sleeves into the M.C. for summer storage.

Don't forget to work on these items so that June doesn't feel so hectic:
  • Fall 2022 Welcome Letters
  • Grade Level School Supply List Edits
  • Please cast your vote for three candidates for the Brown Principal's Award 2022 ASAP
  • 22-23 Grade Level Placement Sheet (by 5/23 if great) - they were shared with you via Google
  • Here is the EOY check out sheet - no need to worry about tackling the tasks now - just gives you a "heads up" of what is to come.

We are nearing the end of the 22-23 school year. WOW!
Let's finish like the rock stars we are!

End of the Year Party @ Pratleys!
Our EOY staff celebration will be hosted by Kristen & Andrew Pratley at their home (3035 McLin Rd. in SJ) on Thursday, June 2nd beginning at 5:30 p.m. We will use social funds to cover the dinner. BYOB and mark your calendars, friends!

Why Teachers Matter

When a student experiences a loss, a teacher’s support can help fill the void. Thank you for supporting students in big and small ways every day.

Reason #92: Teachers help fill the holes in our hearts.
Alex remembers Mr. Joseph:

"I was in eighth grade when my father died in a car accident. It was a difficult year, and I felt really lost. My homeroom teacher, Mr. Joseph, made a special effort to help me. He often found me in the cafeteria before school and stopped to chat. He talked to me about my grades and made sure I kept attending my weekly meetings with the guidance counselor.

Things got especially difficult when basketball season started. My dad had been my biggest fan, and he never missed one of my basketball games. I loved playing on the team, but I thought about quitting. When I stepped out onto the court for the first game of the season, I reluctantly looked up in the stands. My dad wasn’t there, but Mr. Joseph was. He cheered for me and stopped to pat me on the back after the game.

Mr. Joseph attended every game that season, and he attended many more games throughout the rest of my basketball career. When I graduated from high school, he wrote me a letter and told me that my father would be proud of me. Nothing could ever fill the void of my father’s absence, but my teacher’s presence meant so much to me. Mr. Joseph’s support steadied me during that tumultuous time, and I will always be grateful."

Keep going. You may not be able to see the impact you have,
but for one student, it might just last a lifetime. For even more inspiration, check out Safe, Seen, and Stretched in the Classroom, available now.
