💙💛We see you - and so do they. 💙💛

#WeSeeYou

To every Teacher in America, we see you.

Because you do more than 9 to 4 or 4 to 10.

Because every corner of every classroom

echoes your love for children.

Because you're always ready when

a hand extends that needs to be held,

needs to be filled, needs to be taught how to heal,

and still, you never question who will be holding you.

Truth be told, we see you.

Through the smiles, the laughter, you respect our minds,

you awaken the potential in us like chimes against the wind.

Our voices rising. You envision us winning.

You take your time even when we start spinning.

Show us our capability from the very beginning.

We see you. Leaning in when we start to slow.

You give the good word, put the batteries in our backpacks,

give us the lessons, the tools, the knowledge, the discipline,

the hi-fives, the hugs, the motivation, the maps we lack to speed up our flow.

You say, look at the farthest star now go farther.

Everything shines brighter when we try harder.

You fight through the fight so we can break through our fear.

We see you behind the sweat, anchored in our tears.

We see you because you care more than we could ever know.

You do more than just do, so much more so we can go

anywhere we choose to, grow in ways we're just not used to.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, we see you in the shadows

trusting our breakthrough, our strength to break out.

We see you in our communities, our families, our dreams.

We see you on the front lines of equity.

We see you in the possibility of what we could be.

I see you in the greatness you see in all of me.

Principal Read Aloud
Andrew and I would love to read & visit with your class for a 30 minute session this week. Please plan to use this time for yourself - relax, catch up on emails, prepare for upcoming conferences, whatever fills your bucket. Please sign up on the sheet linked here asap. Please note that the days are tabbed on the bottom of the sheet.

Thank you for sharing your learners with us!

What an awesome performance!
Way to go, Fourth Graders & their teachers!

Winter NWEA Testing

We will need to extend the deadline for winter tests to ensure all students that have been absent are able to test. Please let Andrew & Kristen know when both ELA & Math tests are complete in your classrooms. We need to make every effort to have testing complete by this Friday, if possible. Thank you!

The Student Profile report is an incredible tool to share with parents at upcoming conferences. Printing the "developing skills" list is a very useful tool for parents that would like more specific ideas of how to support their learners at home. This is especially true for this round of conferences, as you are meeting with students who may need that additional layer of support. Research indicates that the more specific and strategic we can be with interventions, the more likely they will be successful. Click here to learn more about its use and value.

Please be sure to share your confirmed conference schedule with Sara, Kelly, Andrew and Kristen if you haven't yet. Thank you!

How do you greet your students each day?
When they aren't quite ready to learn, how do you intervene?

You are masters of this work - we encourage you to share your innovative ideas with your colleagues and/or your swim buddy this week.

Valentine's Day Parties

We will welcome families in to celebrate our final party of the school year on Monday, February 14th. Thank you for providing Sara with the names of your volunteers once they are set so that she can ensure background checks are complete prior to February 7th.

Please glance at the family blog each week - we try not to be redundant in content by posting the same information in both places.

The website Chalk & Chances is full of uplifting stories that celebrate this amazingly rewarding profession that we chose. We encourage you to take peek at their site (and grab a box of tissues).
