Upcoming RESA Math Visit
We are delighted to welcome Joe Elsheiskhi, our Math consultant and thought partner from Berrien RESA, to Brown School on Wednesday, December 15th. Joe will be meeting with the 4th and 5th grade teams during late start time, then will visit classrooms during math instructional time to learn more about our IM pilot. His purpose will be to collect information about how he can best support us through ongoing training. He has had the opportunity to visit Lincoln and Clarke over the past month as well. K-5 teachers, please add your math block times to the sheet linked here by Friday, December 10th. Thank you!
Staff Holiday Celebration
If you have ideas for a way to kick off the New Year year in style, please share them with Kent. We are hoping to organize a staff celebration - even if it is after Christmas.
December 17th - Holiday Celebration Schedule
We will be having classroom parties on Friday, December 17th as celebrating the first week back to school may tend to lead to heightened excitement the first week we return. Keeping our equity lens focused on inclusionary practices, while also honoring the joy and excitement this time of year brings to so many students and families, we are asking that you and your parent volunteers plan "winter celebrations". Parties should be scheduled after lunch, as the specials schedule allows.
These do not have to be "New Year, New You" themed as in years past, though you may choose to do that. Perhaps you'll elect to sprinkle some of the great "New Year, New You" ideas you've used in the past into your plans during the first week back in January.
The 2nd-5th grade holiday concert at SJHS was changed to 9am on December 17th to be more in line with our annual routine. We will board buses at 8:45 a.m. We will share information with Y5, K, and 1st grade teachers about remoting in.
We will have a movie celebration from 3:00-3:45 to end our day before the break.
