News from the Family Blog:

Brown School Cares

With Thanksgiving and winter holidays drawing near, our Brown School community would like to support one another. There are times in life when we are in a position of need and at other times we are positioned to help. Our PTO and office staff are looking forward to organizing efforts to support our families in need over the holidays. Please thoughtfully consider submitting this survey no later than November 12th and know that your name will remain anonymous.

Positive Case Process (FYI)

Below is the guidance that Jenny shared with staff at the beginning of October. We thought it may be helpful to share now that COVID cases are rising again. Please see office staff if you hear of a positive student case and/or family quarantine.

1. School is informed of a the positive case

2. Building team identifies close contacts

(0ft-3ft in classroom or bus where masks, 0ft-6ft where not masks)

Fully Vaccinated students do NOT quarantine (even in close contact situation) unless symptoms

  1. Unvaccinated students

    1. If exposure happens in classroom or bus, unvaccinated students do NOT quarantine (even in close contact situation) unless symptoms

      1. If a 2nd case is identified in a classroom within a 10 day period from the first the following quarantine options apply:

  • Quarantine for 10 days past last day of exposure; or

  • Test on day 5 past exposure or later and return on day 7 with a negative test

  • “Test to stay” - testing for the first 7 days past exposure and return with a negative test each day.

  1. If exposure happens outside of classroom or bus (i.e. lunch room) unvaccinated students have the following quarantine options:

  • Quarantine for 10 days past last day of exposure; or

  • Test on day 5 past exposure or later and return on day 7 with a negative test

  • “Test to stay” - testing for the first 7 days past exposure and return with a negative test each day.

Remote Connection Guidelines

Please plan to only connect with students for remote instruction if they are officially quarantined on the BCHD list. The office staff will communicate that information to you. If you hear from a family that they are quarantined, be sure to check with us before setting up remote connections. While our hearts want to support all students that aren’t at school for any reason, it is important that we all follow the same protocol so that our families don’t have varying expectations. We will be sure to remind them of our Return to Learn plan and expectations as well.

Should you have any questions, please reach out. Thank you for being amazing!

Tier III Intervention Data
As a part of your weekly PLC agenda, please plan to review the AIMS bi-weekly progress monitoring data stored in the Tier III Google folder linked here for your students in the 10th percentile and below on recent NWEA tests.  Interventionists collect this information to monitor growth over time.

It's been a busy week and we get to inspire greatness again next week!
