CALLING ALL HUMMINGBIRDS!

Classroom Fall Harvest Costume Parties

We are looking forward to our first classroom celebration of the 2021-22 school year this week! Here are a few things we want to be sure to share with you:

• Costumes can be worn all day (no gore or weapons). We ask that anything that may be distracting to the school environment be saved for home celebrations.
• Students must wear masks along with their costume (not costume masks alone).
• All party volunteers MUST have current background check on file - please be sure you have completed the paperwork found here.
• We will have a costume parade around track outside @ 3:15 p.m. for 1st - 5th graders. All families are welcome to come & take pictures - no background check is needed for the parade session only.

Thank you for joining our students and their "special characters" from their stories at our donuts event last week! It was SO nice to see you there.

Growth Goals in iObservation

It's that time of year again! Please add this year's growth goal(s) to your professional portfolio in iObservation by October 31st. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to share ideas prior to that.

Bottled Water Collection

Please add the following information to your classroom blog.

We are collecting donations of bottled water for our Brown School families residing in Benton Harbor. If you are interested in supporting our community members, please drop off your donations in the Brown School main office vestibule during school hours. Thank you!

Kagan Corner

Are your students telling and turning on each

other? Are you struggling to keep active engagement throughout your lessons? It's time for some teambuilding! Here are a few ideas from KaganOnline.

Also, remember that Dr. Kagan suggests new cooperative groups every 6 weeks - it's time to shake it up!
