Fifth Grade Farewell Clap-Out
In honor of our Brown School tradition, we will line 1/2 of the track following the awards assembly on the last day of school to "clap out" our 5th graders as I announce their names. Please follow the same map that we used for the senior clap-out. Families will stage in the 5th grade "zone". This is where students will meet up with parents that are able to attend.

Please be sure students are all packed up and you've shared all of your goodbyes in the event the bell rings before you can get back inside together.

Classroom Cleaning Day Instructions
Please dedicate some time on Thursday morning
(6/10) to classroom cleaning. Be sure that students wipe down all their desks and bins to store for the summer. Do not use any metal scrapers on our desks. Rick can assist you if you need a solution for “gummy” residue left behind. Please put all garbage in the hallway for easy collection. PLEASE DO NOT STACK STUDENT CHAIRS ON THE LAST DAY - it makes cleaning more efficient if they don't have to be "unstacked" first. Please be sure all Lost and Found items are in the front hall Monday (6/14) at noon for donation.

Year End Procedures
Grades: please let Sara know when your grades are all complete so that she can begin printing cards.

Report Card Envelopes: please let Sara know asap if you need a new report card envelope for a student.

We will get you NWEA reports and any letters that need to be stuffed ASAP. Please keep the envelopes in alphabetical order when you are stuffing.

F&P Folders: Fill out folders completely. Then sort into teacher a, b, and c (where applicable) stacked alphabetically by students’ last name. Band each stack together separately.

Class Lists: Take one last look at your grade level class lists before Wednesday (6/9). After that we will circulate the lists to Bri for a final glance before putting together our working draft master for the summer. Thank you for all of your hard work on this tricky task!

Evaluations: Evaluations are underway and will be viewable in iObservation once published. Please acknowledge all observations and your summative evaluation and then we’ll put two printed copies in your mailbox - one for you to keep and one to return to Kristen. End of year conferences will be scheduled very soon.

Don’t forget to complete your MOECS evaluations to receive your DPPD credit. No forms this year! YAY!

As a reminder, ALL student records and paperwork with any identifying information must be shredded. When cleaning out files, be sure not to throw things in the trash! Sara will have a large box in the office for shredding.

Please be sure students are all packed up and you've shared all of your goodbyes in the event the bell rings before you can get back inside together.

Summer Learning Challenge 2021
HUGE thank you goes out to Megan and Alyssa for their help to design a brand new Summer Learning Challenge that connects to our P2 character strengths - such a great idea, Megan! It is AWESOME!

We will share the challenge with students on June 9th with a kickoff video (to be shared via Google prior to Wednesday). Classroom teachers will receive "Go for the Gold" stickers to give to every student (our fifth graders are moving on to UMS, but they can certainly still participate). The challenge sheet has been attached to the "grab and go" book packs for students to keep for summer reading and beyond. Very exciting! Please pick up your box in the office conference room and distribute books on Wednesday. Be sure to watch the video and place the stickers on your students' shirts before dismissal, please. :)

Enjoy every minute of your well-deserved summer break!
