Family Instructional Choices Survey
As a reminder, families are able to make a change in instructional delivery at the start of each new trimester. Our third trimester survey was sent out last week. Families are asked to make their choice no later than February 22nd. We will have results to share with you soon.

In the event that you are gifted a new learner to your classroom community on Monday, March 8th, please be thinking about how you may leverage the power of your established positive culture to welcome him/her. Here are some ideas to consider:

*Creating a welcome poster
*Assigning purposeful peer helpers
*Intentional class and team builders
*Asking your students what ideas they have
*Inviting the office to help get needed copies/desks/chairs ready

March is Reading Month!
Connie and Jen have been busy preparing for an AMAZING month of celebration. Please
take a look at the website Connie developed linked here to learn all about the events! THANK YOU for the thoughtful creation of these experiences, Connie. You rock!

Wellbeing & Hope
Thank you for providing feedback regarding our next steps as a team related to Kristin Anderson's messages. Some of your ideas included:

Focus on cultivating hope with clear goals, clear pathways and agency.

Celebrating "small wins" among staff.

Sharing small goals among staff (as we do with SWIM buddies), thinking about what it may look like to together honor our humanness.

Continuing to build positive mindsets, focusing on the things that can be changed and not out of our control.

Encouraging leaning on the team.

Holding each other accountable to be compassionate and understanding to ourselves (the way we are for our friends and students).

Celebrating little wins- how we can put a bulletin or something around building so kids can look at other classes and celebrate.

Staff book club with Chatter by Ethan Kross, a book Kristen Anderson recommended. Take self-assessment test Anderson referenced and craft learning around results.

Encourage one another to create hope and help each other to achieve that self compassion.

Let's share and give one another JOY instead of sucking it out of one another.

And many other excellent ideas - let's get to work and spread joy!

Thank you for watching video #4 - Restorative Practices!

As a reminder, our yearbook committee needs our help this year! Without being able to come into the building to take photos, they are relying on our social media posts and photos shared in this Google Folder for yearbook candids. If you have photos of your class, please be sure all masks are completely covering noses and chins and share them via the Google Drive folder with your class' name or on the Brown PTO Facebook page. Thank you for your help!
