Kagan Corner
Kagan + COVID protocols = incredibly possible!
Though some minor adaptations may be necessary, we are in a great place with cohorting in the elementary setting to continue using research-based, best practices like Kagan Cooperative Learning. "Stand-Up, Hand-Up, Elbow-Up" instead of "Hand Up", a squirt of hand sanitizer right before "Fan-N-Pick" so the cards stay germ free, and good 'ol RoundRobin is always possible in your teams. Structures like RallyCoach, Timed Pair Share, and RallyRobin are some of the most effective ways to have students process content. If you would like Kristen to model one of these (or any other) structure, please invite her in.

Welcome to SJPS!
We are delighted to welcome Melaina Von Behren to our SJPS staff. Melaina, an alumna of our great district, will join our K-12 social work staff working primarily with our virtual learners, supporting their social & emotional growth. She will have an office here at Brown School where Mr. Pratley recently vacated. Welcome Melaina!
