Thank you, Jen!
P2 Training & Next Steps
It is almost time to officially launch P2 with our students and families! Our official start day will be on November 23rd (the start of the first trimester). While lessons will only be delivered to K-5 students, all students and staff members will receive a shirt and will be part of the movement.
This week we will practice accessing the materials and will dedicate some time to looking through the resources and planning daily implementation with teams. Please be sure to watch the short clip "Three Clicks to Success" before Wednesday morning. Click here for speedy access. Remember the password is "OtherPeopleMatterMindset". Instead of capturing your takeaways on a circle, we will plan to go through a few steps on a Google Meet call at 8:35am on Wednesday morning (invitation sent and also linked here), then grade level teams should plan to spend a few minutes planning morning meeting content around the slides.
Excited to check out the resources? Be sure you are logged in to your @stjoebears.com google account and click here to see what the presentations/slides are like - engaging, real examples in videos and prompting group questions - all in one place!
- Classroom teachers, you will receive a stack of "confetti" shaped cutouts in your mailboxes by November 9th.
- During a class meeting during the week of November 9th, classes will share real-life examples of kindness toward others that students & staff have witnessed at Brown School.
- Upon witnessing/participating in an act of kindness toward others at school, students/staff will write details on a piece of confetti.
- Classroom teachers will tape the pieces of confetti along the classroom door frame in the hallway.
- We will share a Flipgrid on the Brown PTO Facebook page so that families can record and share examples of kindness witnessed outside of school throughout the week.
Stuff a Truck Food Drive
November 16 - 20, 2020
Boxes will be located in the cross halls for students to add to. We will also have additional boxes in the vestibule by the office for families to drop off items. There will not be a competition this year, thus no specific boxes allocated to classrooms.
Thank you for spreading the news of the collection dates in your classroom blog as well, teachers.
This will be shared with families in Sunday's post:
Brown School is proud to give back to the larger Berrien County community by collecting non-perishable (canned goods, boxed dinner/pasta) food items November 16-20. If you are able, simply pick up an item (or more) at the grocery store, and send it to school with your student to be donated. There will be a donation in the Brown School vestibule if SJVS students would also like to donate. We collect now because there is a greater need for food around the holidays. Thanks for spreading kindness and positivity!
