If you would please post this information in your Google Classrooms, and on your family blogs, I would really appreciate it!

Thank you!

Stuff a Truck Food Drive

November 16 - 20, 2020

We are delighted to partner with 97.5 Y Country to collect donations for our local families again this year. Thank you to Becky for serving as our liaison.

Boxes will be located in the cross halls for students to add to. We will also have additional boxes in the vestibule by the office for families to drop off items. There will not be a competition this year, thus no specific boxes allocated to classrooms.

Thank you for spreading the news of the collection dates in your classroom blog as well, teachers.

Annual Thanksgiving Lunch

We are so appreciative of Sue and Julie for working hard to prepare our annual Thanksgiving lunch with a spin. Students will have the option to enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving meal in "to go" containers this year.

While we will not be able to sit together and serve the dishes family style, I am still happy to purchase lunch for all teachers/staff members that choose to eat with students in the room. If you are unassigned to a class, feel free to select a group that you cohort with or select a class, maintain a distance of at least six feet from others and set an alarm to stay less than 15 minutes. Please sign up on this sheet if you would like to enjoy this traditional meal with our students.

We're GEARING up for our P2 launch on November 23rd! Check out our t-shirt designs:

Here is a quick link to the P2 Character Strengths Calendar (found in resources on the P2 website). Please plan to teach as many of the gratitude lessons as possible during the two-day week. There is a lot of content, don't let it overwhelm you, just get to what works for your class. If you are unable to view the slides and other resources, please be sure your computer is signed into your "@stjoebears.com" account and then let Kristen know right away if you aren't having any luck. We'll get it fixed for you!

Thank you for prioritizing intentional connections even when you had to be away, Dan! Such an impactful way to ensure active engagement in the learning process.

Family Instructional Choices Survey
As a reminder, families are able to make a change in instructional delivery at the start of each new trimester. Our second trimester dates are November 23 - March 5. The district sent a survey for families to indicate if they would like to return to face-to-face learning from virtual learning or vice-versa on Tuesday of this week.  We will have results to share with you next week.

In the event that you might welcome new students to your learning community on Monday, November 23rd, please be thinking about how you may leverage the power of your established classroom community to welcome them. Here are some ideas to ponder:

*Creating a welcome poster
*Assigning purposeful peer helpers
*Intentional class and team builders
*Asking your kids what ideas they have
*Inviting the office to help get needed copies ready

Thank you for submitting your thoughtful growth plans in iObservation. Look for feedback and encouragement to come over the next week. We are focused on the fact that growth is the measurement of progress. Our students are so fortunate to have staff with such drive and dedication. You model what it means to have a growth mindset each and every day!

Don't forget to give Sara your social dues for the year! $20 for full time, $10 for part-time staff members. Thank you!

THEY ARE HERE!! HOORAY!
A special thank you to Sarah, Alyssa, Jen, Connie, and many others for ALL of the hard work you all put in to prepare devices so they could get into our students' hands so quickly! #Teamworkmakesthedreamwork

See Morgan for ideas about device organization - brilliant!
