Count Day

This upcoming Wednesday (10/7) is our first official Count Day for the 2020-21 school year! Here are a few things to be aware for this year:

  • On Wednesday (Count Day) Only: Please ONLY use AC and A  for both a.m. and p.m. attendance - DO NOT use T, EP or PA.
  • Our auditor is requesting that we have attendance certifications from each teacher for 5 weeks starting a week BEFORE count day. That means starting on Count Day, I will have our first attendance certification page posted on the blue board next to Kristen's office for the previous week. Please do not wait to sign them all at one time as they will comment on this practice. Sara will send out a reminder email once the new page has been posted.
  • When signing the attendance certification page, please take a moment and make sure your legal name is correct on the form.

Thank you for your help!

Attendance

Please remember to accurately take attendance no more than 30 minutes after school starts in the morning, as well as in the afternoon. New this year - when attendance is submitted an alert is automatically sent to a parent/guardian if the child is marked A/T. Incorrect markings or late attendance may lead to concern from our families.

Absence Reason
Due to reporting requirements, it is imperative that we know why a student is absent. Thank you for your help in reminding families to share symptoms when reporting an absence related to an illness. If a parent/guardian contacts you about an absence via email (even if Sara is copied), please mark them absent contacted (AC).  If you are contacted regarding an absence and Sara is not copied, please forward it to her. Thank you!

Trick-Or-Treat? Halloween Possibilities - please add your thoughts and ideas to the sheet linked above by Friday (10/9). Thank you!

Thank you for shining a light on the amazing work we do at Brown School, Elizabeth and Erica! If you didn't catch WNDU's report on Thursday evening, click here to watch the segment.

We'd love your input regarding our Chromebook cart usage and sign up for the month of October (after NWEA wraps). Please click here to add your ideas before Friday (10/9).

A HUGE thank you goes out to all of you for your patience, flexibility, and teamwork. Change is difficult, especially when implemented so quickly and during a pandemic. You've bonded together to support each other in all things. Brown School is a family and we demonstrate that every day.
