5th graders to SJHS for performing arts recruitment concert 12:45 - 2:30 p.m.

Brown School Spelling Bee @ 4 p.m. in the gym
1/31 Student Council Fun Friday - Grade Level Colors!

Lockdown Drill - internal threat @ 8:50 a.m.
Fire alarm inspection (a.m.) - could see flashing lights/buzz - please prep students to ignore this system test

During her time with us on Friday, Amanda referenced the barking dog/wise owl video that could be used with elementary students to understand their brain's reaction to high stress situations. Click the video linked below to view this resource.

Elizabeth shared the article linked here from Social Thinking regarding SEL lessons related to Disney/Pixar's Inside Out. In addition, Bri shared a chart linking Zones of Regulation to the characters in the movie. This could be very helpful when related students' zones to the characters in the movie. There is a copy in your mailbox. Thank you for these great resources!
Upcoming Superintendent Visit
Tom will be visiting all five of the district's schools in the coming weeks for an informal, after school visit. He would love to circle up & chat with staff about how the school year is going. Attendance is optional & all staff are welcome. We will meet in the Brown School media center from 4:00 - 4:30 on Wednesday, February 12th.
