Veterans Day

Our SJHS Student Sentate is honoring our veterans again this year with a special breakfast on November 11th. If your class would like to make cards thanking our brave soldiers, please send them to Amanda Wallace at the high school by Wednesday, November 6th. Thank you!

Coach's Corner

Have you acknowledged lately that you are doing HARD work? Planning for the diverse needs in your classroom is exhausting! There is a buzz about our buildings around the 10 essential literacy practices. It’s a great buzz, but for some, it brings wonderings, stress and seems like one more thing. Consider this...we are doing most, if not all, of the best practices outlined in the essentials! However, some of our practices are in need of revitalization, they need to be upcycled. Reconnecting to why we implement these strategies (research) while also digging deep into how we implement them can bring us a bigger achievement bang for our planning and teaching buck! Tackling them all at once is overwhelming. May I suggest that you select one practice that is an area of interest for you and your grade level team, invite me in to support your work, and let’s look at how our work together will make your planning efficient and powerful for kids! Perhaps you will select an essential that your team selected at Tuesday's meeting.
