Reading Room
The Inter-Richment Room is open daily at 7:45 a.m. for students to celebrate the love of literacy prior to the start of the school day. While we are not mandating that kids join our interventionists (want it to be optional and desired), we would love for you to encourage participation as this will undoubtably be a more peaceful start to the day for many of our students who arrive prior to 8:10. Thank you for talking up this opportunity with your class.

Science Olympiad
Thank you, Becky, for taking on the role as Science Olympiad advisor. We appreciate your commitment to this incredible opportunity for our students!

Leadership Teams
Thank you all for your incredibly thoughtful dialogue related to our school improvement initiatives and potential tasks our leadership teams could tackle.  The slides that you contributed to are linked here.

Planetarium Scheduling
Please see the information from Jenna Francis below regarding scheduling your annual trip to the planetarium.

I'm ready to begin scheduling your visits to the planetarium. Shows will be offered January 27th through the end of the school year. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to do any shows on half days. I do have classes before and after the showtimes, so I’m not able to start shows early or end them late.

Showtimes for 2020
Monday, Tuesday & Friday: 10:15 - 11:00 am
Wednesday & Thursday: 10:40 - 11:25 am

Please email me to schedule your show at your convenience.  It is helpful if you can send me a few dates that would work for you. We can schedule two classes to come together, just keep in mind that we have 55 seats.

This year's shows are as follows:
Y5/K  Sesame Street: One World, One Sky (click for trailer)
1st     Zula Patrol: Under the Weather (click for trailer)
2nd    Legends of the Night Sky: Orion (click for trailer)
3rd     The Little Star that Could (click for trailer)
4th     Magic Treehouse: Space Mission (click for trailer)
5th     Earth, Sun and Moon (click for trailer)

If you would like additional info on your show, please visit the planetarium webpage — there is a show catalog there that contains descriptions. Shows include a short overview of constellations in the night sky and a light show if we have time. If you are new to SJPS, please don't hesitate to ask me any questions you have about your planetarium visit.
