Extra Snacks
We have extra bags of snacks in the office that we would love to donate to a classroom for those who forget/don't pack any. They are up for grabs in the office conference room. Please help yourself to a bag or two for your room.

We have two copies of this resource for your reference. One is located in the staff work area in the office and the other is barcoded in the professional learning area in the media center.
Classroom Amplification Systems
Please submit a help desk ticket if your classroom mics do not work, if you need batteries, and/or if you need lanyards. The impact on student engagement when using the amplification system is clear and we want to be sure you have the equipment you need to use them as intended. Thank you!

Core5

Please plan to have all students re-autoplace in Core5. This will not start them from the beginning of the program, it will simply place them where skills are not at "mastery level". I realize this information may not be as timely as it is needed, my sincerest apologies, team. Please let me know how I can help if you have any challenges with setting this feature.

Food for Thought

Please click on the article title below to read one perspective on homework in the elementary schools. This aligns closely to our Help for Billy discussion from chapter 10. Please be ready to share your thoughts at Tuesday's SI meeting.

Reading to Classes

Building relationships throughout the school is key. By reading to classes, I feel more connected to our students, particularly our newest Bears. Please click here to sign up for a time for me to come and read to your class next Thursday or Friday. Thank you!

Have you tried this with your students yet?
It was a hoot! They would love it!

Celebrating Excellence
It's no secret we have AMAZING teachers in our schools!  I'm willing to bet there is a colleague (or 15) that you might consider nominating as Michigan Department of Education's Teacher of the Year. Please click here to submit your nomination for an outstanding teacher colleague today!

Grade Level Release Days
There have been a few changes to the October grade levels release days (please see below). Sara and Kelly G. are working on sub coverage for release days. Please be sure to enter your in-district conference days in Skyward. Thank you!

Sarah for leading learning during lunchtime and to all of our learners.

To all of our amazing teams who work so collaboratively to drive instruction and support! It was so nice to see that in action during Wednesday morning's late start meeting.

Natalie and Becky for serving as our ARs this year!

Stephanie for leading BTS Night for your team!

Kim, Becky, Erica, and Caroline for trying out some Kagan CL structures with your families at BTS Night! You rock! Please forgive me if you also tried one and I missed you - couldn't stay for all of the sessions at one time. :)
Guess Who...
You guessed it - last week's mystery staffer was Kristi DeVore! Let's see who can guess this week's - add your guess to the comment section at the bottom of the blog!

This week's spotlight star...

loves to watch football because it promotes get togethers.

loves to listen to "Joy to the World" by Three Dog Night.

would love to visit her family's butcher shop in Germany.

loves to snack on green veggies, tenderloin, cheese, nuts, and chocolate. Yum!
