March 11-15 Book Fair!
All School Ice Skating was rescheduled for Thursday, March 14th. The schedule remains unchanged (see below). Volunteers are certainly welcome! If interested in joining your class, please be sure they have a Volunteer Consent form on file in the school office. These must be resubmitted annually. Our business office typically needs a few weeks to process these, so please encourage them to turn it in ASAP.
As we work to make mid-year changes to our inter-richment schedule, we are excited to announce the addition of a student support time from 11:45-12:15 in the media center. This is ideal for students that may need to complete homework with adult support, practice math facts, read a book to a grown up, catch up on classwork, etc.. Carol will continue to monitor and support students in the computer lab and Kristi & Sandy will be in the main media center ready to assist students (similar to a study hall concept).
Here's what you need to know: you will not need a formal plan with our intervention team, simply send students with their work and a note (if necessary for directions). If your students eat first, we can make arrangements to flip-flop their lunch and recess time. Let's brainstorm this together.
Inter-Richment Time
Our new inter-richment plan will be emailed to classroom teachers on Monday, including Stephanie's LLI groups. Thank you for your patience with this process. The extension of the NWEA window and our winter weather days have made scheduling and data collection more tricky. Our interventionists have worked hard to realign groups and services with demonstrated needs. Thank you!
Movers?
This is the time of year that we start hearing from families who are planning a year-end move. If you learn of students who are potential movers and may not be returning to Brown next year, please let Sara know so that they can be added to our master list.
Reminders About Online Programs
Just a quick reminder regarding COPPA and protecting our students' privacy. Please make sure if you are planning to use any online program that requires students to create an account, we need you to fill out the form below. SJPS provides numerous online programs for students already, so please make sure to consult the provided and approved list to see if there is something there that can meet your needs before trying something new. If you have any questions, please reach out to Amy Dirlam.
Engagement in Action
The time we spend connecting with students and offering in-the-moment feedback and next steps makes a difference! Thank you, staff!
Just a snapshot of all of the active engagement happening around Brown School.
Guess Who!
You guessed it! Our last mystery staffer was Carolyn Kodis.
