Week of September 4-7, 2018
| O.N.E. Only Need Everyone 💛We are Brown School!💙 |
Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to ensure our year gets off to the best start ever. This past week was full of inspiration and connectedness. I can hardly wait to get started together!
Common Area Expectations
Signage will be posted soon and lunchroom procedures will be practiced with classes during lunch on Tuesday with my guidance. More specific expectations for equipment use at recess will be determined by the team soon.
Please click here to sign up for Kristen to visit your class on Wednesday or Thursday to discuss the rubric, the importance of respecting our SJPS staff, and to reiterate and answer questions about the common area expectations.
Please be sure to share your grade level's common 90 minute ELA block, 60 minute math block, and 30 minute block of common time (daily or as often as possible) for SMART time.
We will develop the SSW schedule around these blocks.
Tech Notes A committee of administrators and teachers were very busy planning for innovative opportunities for our elementary students throughout the summer. Please click here to learn all about the exciting news!
Our Little Library is here! When you see him, please thank Tony for installing this in the rain to ensure our students could grab a book before school starts. It is located outside of the main office entrance in the small patch of grass. Encourage your students to take a book and leave a book (new, used, any book will work).

Lesson Plan Sharing
Below you will find a link to a google form. Please complete the survey by Friday, Sept. 21 (it’s three simple questions). The purpose of the survey is to record where you keep your lesson plans. For this school year, you are free to use any product you wish, I know some of you use Planbook.com, some use Planbookedu.com etc. . . If you use a paper copy, please take pics weekly and place in Google Drive in a Shared Folder and provide the link. Please let me know if you need assistance setting up any of the above.

Welcome to our newest members of our lunch monitor staff! Nikki Joanis will be job sharing with Cindy Igoe this year and Lisa O'Malley will join us five days a week as an additional team member in our lunchroom. Welcome to Brown School!
Remember that support staff will cover recesses for the first week of school, but we could use all hands on deck at dismissal throughout the week. If you are not a classroom teacher, please plan to assist Y5 and K classes.
