IRIP Information
As represented in the flowchart below, letters will be sent to all families of students in 1st-3rd grade who scored below the 41st percentile on the NWEA reading assessment, and to all Kindergarten families of students scoring in the 21st percentile and below. The letter will come from the curriculum office and is mandated by the 3rd grade reading bill. This is simply a notification that there could be a concern in the area of reading, but that further diagnostic assessment will be completed - it is not a guarantee of an individualized reading improvement plan (IRIP). I am planning to send an email to all K-3 parents in advance of the formal letter to ease their worries.
We are hoping to populate IRIPs in PowerSchool this year. I will schedule meetings with you and families and will populate the form during the meeting. As a classroom teacher, you will need the student's most recent F &P running record data and any anecdotal and formative data that you have collected thus far in the area of reading.

IRIP = Individualized Reading Improvement Plan (K-3rd only)
SSM= Student Support Meeting (typically behavioral in nature)
CST= Child Study Team
EOM= End of Message (no need to open email - subject line tells it all)
