March Reading Month
Monday 3/5/18 - Friday 3/30/18

Objective: To keep the pirates from stealing our most valued treasure...our love of reading.  We need to read, read, read to reach the treasure on Treasure Island

Top Readers
  • Every week we will be calculating the top three readers from each grade level.
  • For K-2, we would like you to have students turn in their reading logs every Friday, and a volunteer will come around and figure out who your top reader is from your class.
  • For 3-5, Mrs. Braley will be using the Scholastic site to look up the points of the tops readers in the class for the week. She will calculate points after 2:00 on Fridays. Any tests taken after 2:00 will be counted for the following week.
  • The Top readers, most points-upper el, most books/chapters read-lower el, for each week will be announced on the news on Monday.  The top reader in the grade level will be featured on the news on Monday.
Fun Friday Dress up Days!
  • Dress as your favorite book character - Friday, March 16
  • Flashlight Friday (PJ’s day) - Friday, March 23
  • Celebration Day to include movie - Friday, March 30

Ann Cardon is hoping to read to students in each building sometime this month.  If you’d like Ann to visit your classroom, please send her an email to get a time scheduled.
