Principal's Breakfast

One student from every class will join me in the Media Center one morning a week to share a few morning munchies and get know each other.  We will invite students based on their classroom number.  On November 10th, student #1 will be invited to attend, the following week #2, etc.. Every week in the blog I will note the number we are on so that you don't have to worry about keeping track.

Please note: this will not be a substitution for a healthy breakfast- just a small morning snack and some juice. I will share this with families in the weekly blog as well.

Kagan Corner

Have you ever wondered why Dr. Kagan strongly suggests teams of four? He reminds us of the simultaneous principle in his Kagan Online article, Teams of Four Are Magic:
As we increase team size, we cut down active participation. In a team of seven, only one seventh of the class is verbalizing at any one moment during a group discussion, cutting the active participation almost in half compared to teams of four.

You can find other free Kagan articles at https://www.kaganonline.com/free_articles/

Progress Monitoring Pep Talk

Mark your calendars to give some learning pep talks! All students that see an interventionist in Title One will be progressed monitored on the dates below.  Sometimes a quick reminder and a few words of encouragement to our most "at-promise" learners helps them to understand that we all on the same team and that everything they work on throughout the school is important and is shared among all of their teachers.

11/6, 11/20, 12/4, 12/18, 1/8, 1/22

Conferences
Thank you for all of the time and commitment you consistently dedicate to your students and their families.  I would like to "treat" you to some goodies in the lounge next week as a small token of my appreciation. Please send me your conference attendance percentage when all are completed. Thank you!

Volunteer Confidentiality Agreements
Per our school handbook, volunteers who work with students need to complete a Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement. Kathy put a copy in your mailbox earlier this week and others are available in the office.  Please send them to Kathy once completed to be kept on file. Thank you!
