What A Week!
Thank you all for your flexibility and willingness to rearrange your schedules last week to support our students' talents. It was an amazing week to showcase our staff and students' talents.
Kagan Corner
Dr. Kagan reminds us that the brain loves novelty. Try incorporating a new structure into a math routine to ensure more active engagement. For example, you could have students RallyRobin during a counting routine instead of chorally responding.
Calling All Soda Consumers...
As promised I reached out to the Coca-Cola distributor for a quote for delivery. Here's the scoop:
As promised I reached out to the Coca-Cola distributor for a quote for delivery. Here's the scoop:
- They will deliver our choices of Coke products, but only as few as 25 cases at a time (can wait for up to 6 months at a time).
- They will take the empty cans (only their product) and credit us the refund.
- The cost would be $13.10/case or $0.55 each can.
If you drink pop and would like to keep the Coke machine stocked, please weigh in. If this doesn't sound like the best option to you and you would like to purchase the pop and return the cans, we would gladly accept your offer. ;)
A Growth Mindset Rewind
In this EductionWeek article, Carol Dweck reflects, clarifies, and revisits the notion of possessing a growth mindset. It is definitely a great read as we continue to cultivate growth mindsets.
SMART Time Lunch Session
Is your team seeking some input/ideas about SMART time? Are you wondering what SMART time could look like? If so, please bring your lunch to the Media Center and join me for a very informal support session on Friday (11/17). I'm not claiming to be an expert, but I will help you to find the answers that work for your team.
