Conference Attendance

Thank you for all that you've done to prepare and to host parent-teacher conferences. Please be sure to let me know once you've reached 100% attendance. If you are having any trouble getting in touch with a family or setting an appointment, please let me know. Thank you!

Recess Supervision

Thank you for ensuring that you are present in our areas of concern on the playground every time that you are on recess duty.  Our focus areas are the back of the soccer fields, near the swings and between the GaGa ball pit and the play equipment (particularly during the Y5/K-2 recess).  Please make every effort to decide on zones with your recess duty partners so that every area is covered.  Also, please listen for students to say things like, "I keep having a problem with ___" so that we can be sure to investigate all instances that could be problematic while ensuring a safe school environment for all of our students.

Welcome aboard, Mike King!  Mike is our new Director of Facilities.  He is looking forward to working with custodians and maintenance personnel district-wide to address the needs in our buildings.

Wizard of Oz Production - Nov 8th

Great news!  We're going to be able to take our 1st-5th graders to SJHS to see a portion of the Wizard of Oz musical performance!    Many of our students are involved in the production, and we're excited to offer this cultural experience to the whole student body.

Details:
5th Grade will attend with Upton's kids, departing before 9:00 for a 9:15-10:15 show.
1st - 4th Grade will depart at before 10:15 for a 10:30-11:30 show.

Absences

In the event of a planned absence, PLEASE make every effort to contact a known substitute and make arrangements prior to posting on Aesop.  We have had SEVERAL new faces in the building this fall. While this can be exciting to find new potential "go tos", it is also important to remember that guest teachers that are familiar with our school environment and with the way we "do business" at Brown help to keep things more consistent for our students.  If you are in need of some new names to add to your call list, let me know.  I had some preferred guest teachers that may not be on your radar yet.

Another important note about absences...the business office requires us to be specific about our absence request in Skyward.  We need to be sure to distinguish the difference between an "admin directive" absence and a conference.  In addition, please make a note about what the reason is for the conference or admin directive day.  For instance, if you are attending a conference at the RESA, make a note of what you are going to. Remember that all Aesop requests for a sub must go through Skyward.

Please remember to complete your CLASS survey before next Friday, October 20th!
